Colorado Springs is famous for its magnificent setting and its startling rock formations found in the breathtaking park known as the “Garden of the Gods”. Settling at the foot of one of North America’s most renowned landmarks, Pikes Peak, this Colorado Rockies town has attracted tourists since its inception. Trivia factotum: Katharine Lee Bates was inspired to write her famed “America the Beautiful” after arriving at the summit of Pike’s Peak. Colorado Springs is a treasure trove of the arts, and is known for being one of the most cultured and cultural towns in the Colorado Rockies. The town has its own world-class symphony, a beautiful Performing Arts Center, and is home to the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, the American Numismatic Museum, and the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum. Excellent restaurants abound, and the hotels, bars, and nightspots are some of the best to be found

One of North America’s three top Olympic Training Centers is in Colorado Springs. Take a gander at some of the best athletes in the world while they train and hopefully gain a tip or two for yourself on how to beat your own game. If the military scene ignites you, pop over to the U.S. Air Force Academy just north of downtown. Visit the Honor Court and the Cadet Chapel of this elite academy where many of our top military leaders have learned the tricks of the trade.

Known as Little London way back in the day, Colorado Springs was founded in 1872 by General William J. Palmer, a Civil War hero and a railroad entrepreneur.
