If its great summer activities you’re looking for, then Dillon, Colorado is your place. Dillon boasts 26 miles of shoreline surrounding a reservoir that sits in front of some of the most exquisite mountain peaks in the Colorado Rockies. Here you can fish for salmon and brook or cutthroat trout, or you can rent a boat from one of the two marinas to spend the day cruising the tranquil waters. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy the pure air and the warmth of the sun. There are also charter cruises as well as a sailing school for those wishing to learn or perfect the sport.

Winter is no slouch in Dillon either. Right around the bend from the Summit County ski regions of Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, and Copper Mountain, staying in the small town of Dillon provides a great alternative to some of the larger towns. Surrounded by pine trees, Dillon was built with an environmental consciousness and is replete with lovely shops and restaurants as well as excellent accommodations.
